Where to eat on Avenue Montaigne?

Bad news…  On my last visit to Paris I discovered that Chez Francis, the famous Place de l’Alma Cafe with the most spectacular view of the Eiffel tower, which I mentioned in my book Humeurs de Paris, is closed! Thankfully they are renovating and are expected to re-open in the next few months.

If you’re in the neighborhood,  L’Entracte on Avenue Montaigne, which also presents a new fresh look, is a good suitable choice.

The menu is essentially composed of classic bistrot fare. Beef tartar, niçoise salad, beef Carpaccio, roasted duck breast, roasted cod. For appetizers lentils, artichokes and prawns salads are offered. Everything is fresh and tasty.

What I love about the setting of this legendary address is its refined design with red accents and its warm yet sophisticated atmosphere. A quiet confortable place where regulars like to come to enjoy a good bite, a few steps away from the frenzy of the Parisian fashion district.

In short, a great alternative to Chez Francis- without the view.
